Well it is finally over. I am so glad to be honest with you. I have had some of the hardest conversations with people about this election than any other before. I remember back when it all first started and people were asking me for advice and you know me i probably didn’t give them advice i gave them my opinion. Some people liked my opinion and some tried to change my opinion. Today it is what it is and Barack Obama is the President elect. This is history in America and he has done something that will be written in history books. The advisors and his team knew exactly what to do. They ran a campaign that won the election. I would like to discuss a few things about again what does this mean to me.
It means that Obama’s statement about America not being a christian nation any more is 100% right. So knowing that we have to pray for him and we have to pray for America. The church needs to get on her knees and pray that God helps us. We have to ask God to pour out His Spirit on us. We don’t need to talk about what you think of Obama, but pray for him. Although it seemed that people talked Bush in the ground. We can’t do it about Bush nor should we do it to Obama. Backbiting is of the devil and if you have talked about Bush,Obama or Palin you should repent. I am not saying you can’t disagree with their beliefs, but we should never talk bad about anyone.
Let me just remind all of you that change starts in the Church House not the White House. I have to get on a soapbox for a minute. I would love to know the number of christians who stayed up and watched the results. I saw last night all of the parties being held and I thought man where are all of these people when we call a prayer meeting. You know with me being a youth pastor I get a lot of excuses on teens missing meetings and gatherings all of the time. Last night I saw people who stayed up well past 12am and it made me wonder how many of them have complained about being in church too long or a sermon going to long? So to end what this post I want to encourage you again campaign for Jesus, support your pastor or your leader like you have supported your candidate. Realistically your candidate is not calling out your name in prayer like that pastor is. I am not saying this for myself I am saying push for Jesus harder than you did for your candidate and lets see people’s lives be change by the power of God.
Paul
