How does it feel?

When God speaks to you how does it feel?  When you hear Him what does it sound like? When He speaks do you always listen?  What about when two people hear different things from God?  These are the types of questions I receive a lot.  I try to ask God these questions because I believe sometimes we come up with these answers because we have become professional Christians.  Which  a lot of times really comes more from us and less from God.  How do we know so much really.  I know what your saying well God gives us a brain.  I know that, but that has become our problem at times.  The Holy Ghost is here as our leader and at times we become our own leader before we even consult with Him.  A mature believer is not a person who has it all together at home and when no one is looking. A mature christian is someone who never gets away from depending on God for his daily bread.  We have to remember that when we are weak He is strong.

My point today was to bring us back to the realization that yes God gives us the ability and gifts to do His will; however we can’t ever think that we can do it without Him.  No matter how successful we look to the American society, Christ is still the answer not anything we can offer by ourselves.

In closing how does it feel when the Creator speaks to you through His Spirit?  I know that I asked a bunch of questions so answer one or two and let me know how you feel about this.

  1. When God speaks to me, it’s rarely in the form of a SHOUT. It is more in knowing what the Bible says and if it lines up with my thoughts or actions. Sometimes He calls me out and puts me in check. It is KNOWING what scripture says and examining my beliefs on certain matters. Am I hearing God in how he feels on the issue? I know that no matter what is going on in the world or in my personal relationships, finances, etc…that as long as I am spending time with Him and taking the time to see how He feels, then I’m okay. I am not concerned with pleasing or pacifing man. Knowing what God requires of me and doing what He asks is my goal. Sorry…I’m rambling!

That was really good Karen. Man that is a good reply!!!!!

  3. Thanks! I get started and I could write a book! Hey…maybe I SHOULD write a book! :)

  4. I feel that God speaks to me through different ways. Sometimes when i am reading the bible and what I am learning by myself God will reassure me through pastors or even my own sister that this is what he wants me to know and learn at the moment. He also lately has been speaking to me just through my actions and my daily living. Having my eyes open to the people around me in my classes shows that they are just as hungry for the truth they just dont have the answer. I have the answer to speaking up and saying what I need to say i feel that God not only works through me but speaks to me. I know God has amazing plans for the teens to be moving into The Vault!! I am pretty sure if I step out of my comfort zone and invite people to come with me then God can handle the rest! Just pray that Mallory and I ge the courage to ask some people from little indian land to come with us the night of the Vault opening up! :) God is totally going to reign down his glorious love on the people who need it most!! :)

The Stockstills are a dynamite family! Anything that comes from any of them are phenominal! I’ve been under his Dad’s teachings periodically while living in LA. I have a niece and nephew that are in Pastor Joel’s youth group and they go on and on about it. They actually drive 45 minutes each way to be at their church or to be involved in any youth activities! Can I say how much they love it! My sister attends the church in Baton Rouge and I have been there occasionally. Truly phenominal. What an annointed ministry all the way around I’m not surprised to hear your excitement and catch it!

  7. I am a little late in finding this site, or at least this one topic. It was not by accident, however, as I have been involved in a similar discussion on another blog site, and after posting a similar question onto my own wordpress site, I was directed here under the “Possibly Related” topics. Maybe this is a stretch, but it just occured to me how ironic, or how ‘Godly Spot On” this post has turned out to be, I mean, isn’t it just like God to answer our questions such as “How does God talk to you” through the very means that we are asking the question to begin with? Hey, internet is not all that new, and God said there is nothing new under the sun, so here we are , thousands of miles apart from one another, and yet, as God would have it..we are virtually in one anothers living rooms ..listening to other Body members telling of how God has spoken to us , and by what means He has chosen to use.
I am pleasently releved by the way to see so many here on this site actually saying that God speaks to them in many ways, and even on occasion with a shout into our hearts, or spirit mans ear. Thats a much better realization of the true relationship with God than many of the Theocratic or so called reformed religious posting folks that I have read and heard all too often who will tell us that God only speaks to us through His word. Of course, we know that Gods “Logos” word ..is His Living Word, and therefore as He lives within us, they are correct in a way, yet they themselves do not realize the intimacythat they are cheating themselves out of by either, not having the Spirit of God, and His Logos word living within them, enabling the Rhema messages to come to their rememberance, or, by quite frankly not trusting God enough to allow Him to answer them without having an actual book in their hands.
Either way, I pray for them to some day realize that they , nor can anyone else put God into a box, but it is they who are stuck in the darkness of lack of wisdom. So, I suppose the story within the one i have spoken of here pretty much reveals the ways that God speaks to me, or at least some of them. God Bless you all, and let us pray that we all are more atentive to Gods voice.
